The Friends of Redlands School, the parent-teacher association for Redlands Primary School on Lydford Road, Reading, are in training for their fundraising stint at the half-marathon in April 2020. They want to raise £10,000 to improve facilities and provide workshops for pupils at the school.

After the racers left Green Park and the Bennet Road gyratory behind them they head up the hill of Hartland Road at about the 2 mile mark. Our on-the-spot photographer sent us some photographs of the Reading Sage half marathon as it unfolded.

Last year, the Reading half marathon was called off at short notice because of treacherous, icy conditions on the roads. The weather remains unpredictable this year; Reading may have had some of its best summer weather in February!
The 2018 Reading half marathon will take place on Sunday 18 March. The anti-clockwise route starts in Green Park and ends at the Madejksi stadium.

It was a lovely cool day for running the Reading half marathon this year and a really good supportive and fun crowd were outside Christchurch; always a popular viewing spot.
Road closures for this year’s Reading half marathon on Sunday 19 March mean that Katesgrove bus services will be cancelled for most of the morning.

This year’s Reading half marathon is on Sunday 19 March and many roads around Katesgrove will be closed for most of the morning and some of the afternoon. Even pedestrians can be affected because roads can become impossible to cross as runners stream past.

2015 Reading half marathon on Kendrick Road
Reading’s annual half marathon, a run of 13 miles around the south and centre of the town, starts at Green Park near the A33 on Sunday 3 April at 10am.
