Reading Neighbourhood Network and Reading Voluntary Action (RVA) have arranged workshops for any Reading resident who would like to arrange a street party during one of the free road closure weekends in June and July 2020.

The programme of workshops is targeted at areas of Reading which have had few or no street parties in recent years. These free sessions will give people the information, resources and ideas they need to run a street party or green space event.

“This is a fantastic way to get to know your neighbours and bring people together of all ages,” said Reading Borough Council neighbourhood initiatives officer Janet Ives.

There is a street party workshop at the Whitley Wood Community Centre, Swallowfield Drive, RG2 8UH at 6pm on Wednesday 19 February, and another at the Katesgrove Children’s Centre, Waterloo Meadows, Elgar Road RG2 0BN at 6.30pm on Thursday 5 March.

You can confirm your place at the Whitley Wood or Katesgrove workshops online, or phone RVA on 0118 937 2273.
