Guy Fawkes night is Thursday 5 November, but firework displays will be seen all over Reading during the days either side of this date.

Carter’s Steam Fair will be holding firework displays at Prospect Park on Saturday 24 and 31 October at 9pm.

The Lions Club of Reading are having a fireworks night at Reading Town FC, Scours Lane on Saturday 31 October at 7pm. The Burghfield Community Sports Association are also having their fireworks display on Saturday 31 October, at 7.30pm at James’s Lane.

Reading University Students’ Union is holding a Fireworks Extravaganza on Friday 6 November at 6pm in the Whiteknights campus meadow.

In addition to these public events, which may need a paid ticket, there are usually many smaller bonfires and firework displays within exploding distance of the top of Whitley; if you want to list yours, please add a comment!

The RSPCA has advice for pet owners who want to make the experience less frightening for their pets.
